Game Tuesday, May 18th in Tewksbury

Power player of the week goes to the Beach-Strength Wind. Now, we are ready for Seabrook!

The Play of the Week was a series of plays. Biller was in the endzone and looking open. Not so. Danny hustled in for the block and turnover. Next throw.. another turnover! Biller zips back into the endzone to get the point. NOT SO! Danny comes in again for the point-stealing block. Back out of the endzone the disc is thrown. Turnover again! Biller, still in good position, zips along the goal line and just inside the endzone. This time a great throw and Biller stretches out for the layout! But no point! Danny rockets across for a third time to tip the disc away. That’s 3 goal-stopping blocks within a minute. Way to go Danny!

See you all in Tewksbury on Tuesday May 18th at 6pm.

Next game, Tuesday May 11th in Tewksbury

It is great to see more and more people coming out and playing.

Play of the week goes to Eric for the fastest turn around ever on the photos from April 27th. Eric does not just dump the truck load of the 1000 photos he takes in an evening, he combs through them to pick the best, and, he spends time to crop the photos and I’m sure he’s touching up photos of a few of you to make them palatable 🙂 Here’s the link to his dropbox (also on our photos page).

Hopefully, they will get to cutting the grass by Tuesday.

Spring weather, Tuesday May 4th. GAME ON !!

It is fantastic to be back up to a full 7-on-7 game! A few “locals” have found us, and, we are sharing the excitement. Great games! Last week, Deanna set a personal record of at least 3 layouts. Of course, for Deanna, they are some form of a layout, tumble, sprawl, and jump up with the disc in hand and a “Whoo! Whoo!”. Oh, watch out for a new hazard. I think we lost a few discs in the high grass. However, it provides a great landing pad for those of us who love layouts. Hopefully, Eric snapped a few of the great plays.

More “summer” weather for Tuesday

I can call it “summer” because on last week’s drive home, there was construction on 93 north with only 1 lane open. That’s summer! And the weather will be good too.

Last week’s highlight was Mike E’s dive into the reeds to get the disc. He landed hard like he occasionally does on the beach. I’m not sure how he gets the earth to shake so much. If I’m talking reeds (or is it bamboo), I must mention JJ’s much more elegant reed encounter of the previous week. It was more of a Fast and Furious tip-toe through the protruding spiky things. No casualties. Well, Mike may report differently.

Highlights of this coming week… we expect our camera man to be there converting us into pixels. Maskers, please wear your smiley face mask.

See you all Tuesday, April 27th, at the Tewksbury field at 6pm.

Summer weather for Tuesday, April 20th

What a great start after a year of paranoia!
Let’s keep it going. It was nice having a sub. More would be better.
The field is in great shape.. the grass is growing in thickly.

Season 39 begins Tuesday, April 13 at the Tewksbury Field

Dust off those cleats, we are good to go!
It will be so great to see you all!
Not much has changed with the field.. same day, Tuesday, same time, 6pm.
Bring your level of protection. USA Ultimate has set no limit on the maximum number of masks you can wear. See who can wear the most to earn that end-of-year award.
By all means do not come if you are not feeling 100%.
We will need to take attendance like the restaurants do.
I attached a photo of the USA Ultimate approved disc we will use. Each player must catch and throw the disc using only their own color which totally eliminates germ sharing.
Of course, we will need to sign the USA Ultimate waivers, and cough up $20 for liability insurance.

See you all at the Tewksbury field, Tuesday, April 13th at 6pm!

Safe Play Disc

Season 39 is almost upon us!

The weather is warming, the field is drying, the liability insurance is in the works.. it’s that time of the year get our ultimate running (pun intended). All is falling into place to begin play on April 13th! It has been a while, and I can’t wait to play with the group.

We will need to figure out our safety level. I’m sure a few of you have opinions. Some have vaccinations. More importantly, we could use a host for a season opener party.

See you all in a few weeks!

ICE ICE ICE Sunday Afternoon

The pond ice has been fantastic this year.  We have been keeping it clear and smooth.

The photo is from this morning.

Sunday January 31st looks to be the best day for a skate party!  (big snow coming next week)

We will get a bonfire going.  Have snacks and hot beverage.

I have buckets of ice skates of all sizes collected from yard sales over the years.

We can toss the Frizzbee, pass the puck, skate dance (Bob will lead 😊 ), etc.

Looks like there’s enough snow on the yard for snowtubes.

Here’s a chance to be social with all the distance afforded by the great outdoors.

Date:  Sunday January 31st at 1pm and on.

Where: 52 Chase Rd Londonderry NH     603-965-6563

What:  Dress for the weather.  Bring skates or use ours.

Consumption:  We will have hot chocolate, at least, and some snacks.  Bring your own other stuff or sharables.

An RSVP would be nice.  Text to 603-965-6563 (preferred), or email to bill@ankers.org

I’ll send out an update Saturday.

End of Season Party, Tuesday, Sept 29th

Player numbers are down, but, the weather is fantastic this Tuesday!
Let’s distance ourselves with a big-yard tossing of the disk, shoot at the disc golf baskets, cook burgers or what ever you bring on a germ killing grill, sanitize the air with a bonfire, talk (shout) with ourselves at whatever distance you are comfortable with!

I miss seeing you all. Let’s take this chance to socialize before winter sets in.

See you at 5:30ish, Tuesday, Sept 29th at
52 Chase Rd. Londonderry, NH
