Anker’s Beach Party: June 29th!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
We picked Saturday June 29th for our “Frizzbee & Friends” beach party at our pond.
It is conveniently 1 week after Pete’s beer brewing event produces results.
We brew! We bottle! We taste! We zip! We Poleish Horseshoe! We drink a lot more! We get wet! We eat! We make music!

Mark your calendars!

RAINOUT / FREEZOUT

No game today!!

I know it’s just a little mist.  And, the temperature is above freezing.  But, it is the “feels like” hovering around freezing that has pushed the needle down below the acceptable level.  I hope none of you penguins are disappointed.  See you Tuesday the 30th.

Looks like the rain will end around 6:00

The rain cloud is overhead right now and doing its thing.  The tail end will be passing by the field at just about 6:00.  It is still warm (OK, it’s not cold).  It looks like we can get some play in!

See you at the field at 6:00.

Next game Tuesday, April 16th.

Forecast: 65 degrees, rain moving in late in the day, 100% chance of waiver signing.

The field is in great shape.  The weather should be great, but, watch to see if the rain arrives early.

I’ll be collecting the $10 yearly fee which goes to USA ULTIMATE who sanctions us and provides the required liability insurance which we need to use the field.

See you Tuesday, April 16th at 6:00

We are ready to play when the field thaws!

I’m ahead of Dave this year! I’ve got our insurance liability binder. We are sanctioned by USA Ultimate. And, we have the “go ahead” for the field. To top it off, I negotiated with the gods and secured the low tide days right where we need them.. on every other Tuesday! It’s our best alignment in a decade.

I put a start date of April 16 on our schedule. If someone can check the field for viability, we could start earlier. We do not want to tear up the field by playing before the grass wakes up from winter.

A new aspect to our game this year, comes from our sanctioning with the USA Ultimate. Due to the media hype over brain injuries in sports involving running, we are required to wear helmets during play. USA Ultimate approves a line of ultimate helmets made by Bauer and they resemble hockey helmets. You can get them with or without a facemask. The facemask makes you look more intimidating. On the 16th, a representative will be at the field for fittings. They are bragging about the good fit they achieve because they use a big ball shaped device they place over your head. It has 16 screws which screw in towards your head to determine you unique head shape. Pretty impressive! Check it out here.

See you all in a few weeks!
