Dry game night Tuesday May 13th

I’ll take a cool sunny evening over what drenched the field last Tuesday. Actually, this Tuesday is perfect running weather… low 60s degrees at gametime. See you then, at the Tewksbury field, May 13th.

Hooray for the email blaster (unless you didn’t get this).

We Need a Miracle, Tuesday May 6th

Tuesday’s update: This week is a rainout!

We rarely admit defeat the day before a game. Sorry, if only the weather forecast is fake news, do we have a chance of playing.

If the miracle happens, I’ll update the website and send out an email by mid-afternoon on Tuesday the 6th. However, assume a rainout.

Last week, we shut the lights off at 8:45. Good long games.

I believe the email blaster is back up and ready to handle this Monday’s “reminder” email. Fingers crossed.

See you all Tuesday May 13th at the sunny, summery Tewksbury field at 6pm.

Game, Tuesday, April 29th

Shake up your sunscreen, slip on your sunglasses, fill your water bottle, fill a second water bottle, ditch the pants for shorts, same for long to short sleeves, swap your warm hat for a sweat absorbing headband. Summer is burning down upon us with a predicted 82 degree high this Tuesday.

See you all at the Tewksbury field, Tuesday April 29, at 6pm.

Game on Tuesday April 22nd

Last Tuesday, we showed the rain gods who’s boss. It was a great opening night. I predict no rainouts for the rest of the season.

Due to last week’s rain, we skipped the waiver and $20 thing. No problem, we can have that fun this Tuesday with summer-like weather.

See you all Tuesday, April 22nd, at the Tewksbury field, at 6 pm.

P.S. With no trust in the hostgator mailman email blaster, I plan on sending the “Monday Reminder” from ankers.org.

2025 Begins Tuesday April 15th

Time to pull ourselves out of winter. Pull your gear out of moth balls, do a slow stretch, grab $20 for the season, and I’ll see you at the Tewksbury field Tuesday April 15th at 6pm.

The email blaster is still acting flakey. The web server is working fine. That’s your “go to”.

ICE ICE ICE BABY !!

Update 11jan2025: YES the ICE will be uncovered by Sunday. SKATING IS ON.
(Shoveling pre-party Saturday evening!)

Mark you calendars for skating on Ankers Pond next weekend, Sunday, January 12th at noon and on.

For the next week, there’s no precipitation forecast, and the temps will be well below freezing. Plus, the weekend will be sunny (yay), with highs around freezing (perfect), and no wind (more perfection).

Details will follow, closer to the weekend, so that the weather can be watched. Plenty of time to get the skates sharpened.

Season 42 is now in the record books.

With next Tuesday, Dec 3rd, being in the 20s at gametime, our 2024 season is hereby declared over. Those LED lights are great, but they don’t produce much warmth down at field level.

Hopefully, we will have good ice on the pond this winter. This often happens without much notice, and is usually closer to New Years Day, than later when too much snow has fallen.

Any of you can post to the email blaster from the email address you receive our emails on. Thus, any of you can call for a hike, snowshoe, X-country ski, down hill ski, rock climb, movie night, pool night, house party night, etc. Go for it, just don’t be SPAMing the list.

Last thrill of the season, will be the highly beloved stats which I’m sure Becky is pouring over this very minute.

Tues Nov 26th, Game on, if the rain quits.

The rain should have passed by gametime. YAY! Then, it’s 40ish. I’m wearing gloves! Expect a few errant passes 🙂

The first December Tuesday, looks to be bitterly cold, with a frozen field and temps of 30 and below. At that point, we usually call it quits. We will need a head count before proceeding. RSVP.
