ICE ICE ICE BABY !!

Update 11jan2025: YES the ICE will be uncovered by Sunday. SKATING IS ON.
(Shoveling pre-party Saturday evening!)

Mark you calendars for skating on Ankers Pond next weekend, Sunday, January 12th at noon and on.

For the next week, there’s no precipitation forecast, and the temps will be well below freezing. Plus, the weekend will be sunny (yay), with highs around freezing (perfect), and no wind (more perfection).

Details will follow, closer to the weekend, so that the weather can be watched. Plenty of time to get the skates sharpened.

Season 42 is now in the record books.

With next Tuesday, Dec 3rd, being in the 20s at gametime, our 2024 season is hereby declared over. Those LED lights are great, but they don’t produce much warmth down at field level.

Hopefully, we will have good ice on the pond this winter. This often happens without much notice, and is usually closer to New Years Day, than later when too much snow has fallen.

Any of you can post to the email blaster from the email address you receive our emails on. Thus, any of you can call for a hike, snowshoe, X-country ski, down hill ski, rock climb, movie night, pool night, house party night, etc. Go for it, just don’t be SPAMing the list.

Last thrill of the season, will be the highly beloved stats which I’m sure Becky is pouring over this very minute.

Tues Nov 26th, Game on, if the rain quits.

The rain should have passed by gametime. YAY! Then, it’s 40ish. I’m wearing gloves! Expect a few errant passes 🙂

The first December Tuesday, looks to be bitterly cold, with a frozen field and temps of 30 and below. At that point, we usually call it quits. We will need a head count before proceeding. RSVP.

Game Tuesday November 12th

Let’s pretend it is summer! We have the brighter-than-sunshine field lights! Bring gloves and a hat, just in case.

See you all Tuesday Nov. 12th at 6pm at the Tewksbury field.

PARTY this TUESDAY, Oct 15th

Big End-of-Season Party Tuesday evening Oct 15th, 6pm to 9, at Tinu and Nipa’s house
305 Boston Rd. North Andover MA.  978-764-8751

Food will be pot luck. Plan on bringing your best dish to share.
If you happen to be receiving an award, you must be there to receive it. You must be there for us to even mention your name! It’s like your season didn’t exist, if you skip the party.

Note, awards tend to be fairly randomly awarded. Actually, you should be happy if you do not receive one, since they are all too often sarcastic. You can make and bring your own award, too. Be creative.

Please RSVP to me at the party, or email bill @ ankers.org, if you are “in” for a game Wednesday evening, October 16th at the field. I’m expecting this game will happen.
