See you at the Tewksbury field, Tuesday, June 23rd at 6:00

 

There was NOT a big push for the beach this Tuesday, so, we will play it safe and head to the Tewksbury field.   Again this week, we will have to watch the weather radar.

The Most Improved Player of the Week goes to Kevin C. He qualified for Best Block of the Night by stopping 2 hard thrown discs. The first block was a sonic boom of a stop where he distracted the thrower with his arms, then, Kevin blocked the torpedo of a throw, with his left cheek. You will be able to see the impact spot this Tuesday. Learning a quick lesson from his first block, Kevin improved his technique. He was able to make another impressive block by getting his face in front of the throw again, but, this time with his arms there to absorb the blow. Kevin earns an A+.

We may get a little wet tonight. It looks like light rain arriving with us, until about 8:00.

It should be good running temperatures.

P.S. The following Tuesday, June 16th, is a beach opportunity day. We will make the call as we get closer to a trustworthy weather forecast.

The preliminary forecast shows the rain clearing out well before game time. Expect your feet to get wet.

Make sure your calendars are marked for Saturday, July 11th, for our Summer Beach Music Picnic Fest. I’ll send out more details later. It’s basically the same plan as last year. This year there is a Fireworks Fund set up to help spread out the costs of the fantastic show we’ve enjoyed the past couple years. Thanks to all those who have contributed.

Monday’s Memorial Day.  Don’t forget your gear on Tuesday.

Catch of the week goes to JJ for a speedy zip into the endzone and a just-in-time catch as he ducked under the bushes to make the grab. Both acceleration and deceleration was impressive, even for JJ.
MVP goes to Kitt for playing better and better as the night went on.. making blocks on defense then scoring via stealthy maneuvering.
Most collisions of the night goes to Kevin.

We have proven ourselves to be masters of the rain!  Game on! (unless it is raining, of course).

 

We will try to play.  It looks like we have scared the rain away.

Say what you want about our humble field, but, it does drain well. The rain should end and we shall play.
