We are ready to play when the field thaws!

I’m ahead of Dave this year! I’ve got our insurance liability binder. We are sanctioned by USA Ultimate. And, we have the “go ahead” for the field. To top it off, I negotiated with the gods and secured the low tide days right where we need them.. on every other Tuesday! It’s our best alignment in a decade.

I put a start date of April 16 on our schedule. If someone can check the field for viability, we could start earlier. We do not want to tear up the field by playing before the grass wakes up from winter.

A new aspect to our game this year, comes from our sanctioning with the USA Ultimate. Due to the media hype over brain injuries in sports involving running, we are required to wear helmets during play. USA Ultimate approves a line of ultimate helmets made by Bauer and they resemble hockey helmets. You can get them with or without a facemask. The facemask makes you look more intimidating. On the 16th, a representative will be at the field for fittings. They are bragging about the good fit they achieve because they use a big ball shaped device they place over your head. It has 16 screws which screw in towards your head to determine you unique head shape. Pretty impressive! Check it out here.

See you all in a few weeks!

The party is Tuesday, October 16th, at Pete and Habi’s house just up the road in Nashua.

See you this Tuesday at the Tewksbury field at 5:15 !!!

Today, we are screwed.

The radar has this cool rain continuing throughout our game time. Thus, creating a perfect time for players to think up and submit their award nominations.

Let’s beat the night this Tuesday.

We have 2 weeks left to play. Let’s start at 5:15.
The rain should pass and leave us pleasant fall temps.

rainout

It’s not looking good. Cool, wet, windy, with off-and-on rain.
At best, this would be a skimpy turnout.
I’ll spend the time thinking up awards for the end-of-season festivities. And you should, too.
Get your award ideas and nominations to me or Dale.

See you next Tuesday September 24th at 5:30 in Tewksbury.

Maybe ??

It’s too early to tell if it will be raining at 6:00. I’ll be away from email until after 5:00, so, someone else can call it off if rain is about to happen. Hope to see you at the field at 6:00.

Tuesday nights at the field from here on out.

Ahhh, what a beach summer it has been. Now, we roll into the early fall stretch where the temperature drops to perfect running levels. The sun drops, too. We’ll keep the start time at 6:00 until later in september where we’ll need to begin earlier.

I’ll be bringing the 30th Year Discs to the games. Get your own for only $10. Or, 2 discs for $20.. 1 to show off, and the other for daily use.

See you at the field this Tuesday, Sept. 4th at 6:00.
