Beach weather on a Beach night, Tues, Jul 13

It will be a layout-in-the-surf night, Tuesday July 13th at Seabrook Beach! The long range forecast calls for 90 degree temperatures. The low tide is set perfectly at 7:25. This year, the low tide beach is much much narrower than last year’s record breaking wideness. This will help promote wet plays. Anyone who sweated through last Tueday’s sweltering hot game, gets to line up on the ocean side of the field.

Speaking of last Tuesday’s game, we were all fighting heat exhaustion. If Ted were there, he would have got swept away in a torrent of his own sweat. We even had a halftime, so we could recover from the heat (and to curse Rich F for sneaking away and leaving us with no subs). The hero of the night is Jeff. He brought a cooler full of ice cold oranges!

See you all Tuesday at Seabrook Beach at 6:15ish.

SEABROOK BEACH on June 29th

Yes, we have summer weather and a low tide (at 8:27)! Bring the family. Bring your seafood appetite for Markey’s. There are 5 beach opportunities this summer and this is the first! It’s also the longest. Remember, Markeys stops taking food orders until 9:00.

See y’all at 6:15ish

Last week’s commentary by Eric S.:

After a mostly beautiful day the clouds rolled in late in the afternoon. The weather map showed a large mass of rain activity headed straight for Tewksbury. Nine hearty souls braved the impending rain and played what turned out to be a nice night for Frisbee. The rain held off until about 7:20, and then it was only a refreshing sprinkle. The temp had dropped to a comfortable 70-something, and the clouds meant no sun in our eyes.

Playing only 4 on 4 with one sub all night meant that everyone had to play hard. The play that stands out was early in the evening when Brian made a sharp pass to Sarah, who spun around and made a perfect pass into the end-zone on the fire station end of the field. Everyone watched in amazement as the pass headed straight for the fireman who was busy mowing the lawn. He made a perfect catch. I’m a bit hazy on this last part, but I believe that since Brian and Sarah were on the non-pinnie team and the fireman was not wearing a pinnie we let it count as a score.

Tewksbury, Tuesday, June 22nd

The weather looks good for y’all. I’ll be down south in Virginia with a couple dozen boy scouts. When I return, I’ll see you at Seabrook Beach on the 29th.

This Tuesday the 22nd, it’s Tewksbury at 6:00!

TEWKSBURY, Tuesday June 15th

The weather will be too cold for the beach! Sorry for the change. It will be down to 70 by game time and mid 60s by the Markey’s time. Pass the word arround. Tewksbury this Tuesday, June 15th, at 6:00.

Rainout June 1st

This band of rain should end soon, but, it is followed by another band which arrives at the field just after we do. Looks like a rainout to me. See you next Tuesday June 8th.

P.S. This is where a ground swelling of “I want to play in the rain!” comments from enough people change the decision. Click the “Comments” button which is called “no comments” until someone posts something.

Next game Tuesday June 1st in Tewksbury

Take your pick: rain or heat. It could be either in Tewksbury on Tuesday the 1st of June. Watch out your window and watch the animated weather. We’ll try to call it yay or nay by 4:00.

Last Tuesday was a cooker. Our hottest weather so far this year. I think the heat turned away more players than the threat of rain. Subs were at a premium. We played with 1 sub on a 90ish degree day! Then, I can’t believe he did this. Tim, of all seasoned players, sneaks away and leaves. OMG! I wonder if he was laughing as he left. 90 degrees and no subs! Oh, did we curse Tim. Yep, we plotted revenge and invented some nasty names for him. But, we got stuck on 1 biggie.. does Tim deserve the “Bozo of the week” award? Please, post your comments on the webpage.

P.S. Rich L. may be the hero-of-the-day since he showed up, albeit late, and, got us back up to 1 sub. I will note that Rich arrived during the game-to-5. Make that.. during the game-to-5 with the score 4-to-4 which could put him in a catagory closer to Tim.

P.P.S. Hammer-of-the-day goes to Eric R. It was half the field long and dead on target in the endzone.

P.P.P.S. Post your comments

Next Game Tuesday the 25th in Tewksbury

It’s beach weather, but, the tide won’t be right. See you in Tewksbury at 6:00 with your water bottle.

We had a great game last week. The rain held off until the game-to-5 which is just when you welcome it.
